  • I largely agreed with you regarding the novels. I had no problem with the violence in Genesys as while Ace's behavior (& that of others) was simplistic I felt it fitted the style of the book; although, having said that, I would have preferred a more sophisticated dealing of such things. Overall I'd say it was lightweight fun, certainly not something I'd use to introduce someone to the novels. Exodus, as you said, is far better and I liked the balanced depiction of the Naxis, although I wasn't too keen of the idea of Super (assisted) Hitler. When I was younger I preferred stories featuring returning monsters (indeed one of the first novels I bought was Zeta Major under the impression that it featured Mandrels), but over the years I've become less so inclined, although if there's a good reason for the return then it can be interesting.
