Well, here we are. Almost 6 years and over 200 episodes later, it's time for the final (for now?) episode of The Oncoming Storm. Even though All Good Things must come to an end, Josh, Ashley, Jeff, and Rachel are here to take you through episode 210, and its not without a few choked words. But before all of that, there's the final news segment covering all of the excitement of the last month, and the feature segment with everyone talks about what they feel about the New Adventures over all, and everyone runs down their top 5 New Adventures! The required Doctor Who content finished, the last hour of this deluxe sized episode is devoted to a bunch of self indulgent reminiscing, thank yous, and farewells. Feelings are expressed, tears are shed, and we really won't blame you if you turn off the show before it gets to that... don't say we didn't warn you! The Oncoming Storm... This last time, we've got nothing but love for everyone who's listened over the years. Thank you all for being a part of our journey.

Over 5 years ago, two men started out with a mission: Review every Doctor Who New Adventure from Virgin Publishing. And now, that mission reaches it's conclusion. Episode 209 of The Oncoming Storm sees Josh, Ashley, Rachel, and Jeff do their last review show of this version of the podcast on the final Doctor Who New Adventure, The Dying Days by Lance Parkin. This one features the 8th Doctor coming to keep a promise the 7th Doctor made to Benny... and then the Ice Warriors show up! Ice Warriors, Benny, a new series modern setting... it sounds like this book has the something for everyone on the Oncoming Storm crew. Will the NAs (and the podcast!) go out with a bang? Let's find out! The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got no more New Adventure Angst! Instead, it's just a happy, huggable, kissable Paul McGann!

The Oncoming Storm Ep 208: The Angel's Kiss, Special Features, The Curious Incident of the Doctor in the Nighttime
The countdown gets ever lower... but we're not done yet! The Oncoming Storm is back to do their final audio episode in episode 208. Will it be full of laughter and happy remembrances, or will Josh, Ashley, Rachel, and Jeff revert to form and be at each others throats again? Well, this episode does feature a River Song story, but we're not saying. Spoilers! That's right, first up is the River Song solo adventure The Angel's Kiss by Justin Richards. A pastiche detective story set in 1930s New York, River gets hired to save an actor's life, and, surprise, the weeping angels are involved! Then Josh flexs his editor muscles to get to review 2 final stories, Special Features by John Dorney, and The Curious Incident of the Doctor in the Nighttime by Nev Fountain. Let Josh tell you why he decided these two deserved to be the final audios that The Oncoming Storm covers (for now)! The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got laughs. And tears. And whatever you do when you hear River Song.

Well, we tried. We really did. Episode 207 of The Oncoming Storm was supposed to be this epic conclusion to 5 years of discussing the 7th Doctor's new adventures. And it still is, after a fashion. Just with tons of screw ups along the way. It starts out well enough, Josh Ashley, Rachel, and Jeff are here, and they get through the news well enough. But then the discussion turns to Lungbarrow by Marc Platt, and Ashley gets timescooped away. And despite our best efforts, we can't get him back. Even when a secondary discussion occurs, the pesky interference stops his voice again! So please forgive us, and try to enjoy the discussions that are there, as we talk about the Doctor's past, his family, and his tear jerking goodbye. The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got sentient furniture and mutant killer flowers! Gallifrey is so much cooler than we all thought!

Hey now, has it been a month already? Don't worry, we haven't given up on the show just yet! Josh, Ashley, Rachel, and Jeff are all back for episode 206 of The Oncoming Storm, and they have stories of cons, games, and wildfires from the month they were out. Once they catch up a month's worth of news, the team turns to the final audio picks of Jeff and Ashley. First up, Jeff picks a sentimental favorite, The Stone Rose by Jacqueline Rayner, as read by David Tennant. An audiobook featuring the 10th Doctor and Rose will surely bring the team together, right? After they recover from that, it's time for Ashley's random hat pick of Wave of Destruction by Justin Richards. Set in the infamous season 17 and featuring the 4th Doctor, Romana, and K-9, will Big Finish be able to capture some of that Douglas Adams magic? The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got Vardans and talking monkey things! Yeah well, they can't all be winners in the evil monster category.

It's time for The Oncoming Storm episode 205, and the crew think they're turning Japanese, they think they're turning Japanese, they really think so. Okay, bad 80's song references aside, Josh, Ashley, Rachel, and Jeff are here with the penultimate 7th Doctor New Adventure, as they look at The Room with No Doors by Kate Orman, and that's right, The Doctor and Chris are in medieval Japan! There, they'll run across all of the expected things; samurai, monks, Victorian inventors, floating heads, giant bird people. You know, the usual. But Chris is having nightmares of being placed in the room with no doors. Is that his fate, or with a regeneration impending, is it the ultimate fate of the 7th Doctor? Strap in for some emotional soul searching in this one, folks. The Oncoming Storm... this time, we've got existential angst. Hopefully the Doctor can manipulate us into feeling better!

What? It's new episode time already? Your editor isn't prepared for that! We gave up on this weekly thing ages ago. Luckily for you, dear listener, we've also pretty much given up on that whole editing thing, so you can hear episode 204 now! Episode 204 of The Oncoming Storm sees Josh, Ashley, Rachel, and Jeff coming to the end of the epic 16 part Doom Coalition! In this 4th boxset, by Big Finish masters John Dorney and Matt Fitten, the 8th Doctor faces a fully revealed Doom Coalition (finally!) with a little help from friends like Cardinal Ollistra and River Song. You might be expecting some slight disagreements over some of the aspects of this box set, and you'd be right! But... it's probably not about what you're expecting! The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got WOOOONG! Oh No! WOOOOONG! IT's... WOOOOONG The TRUMPET MONSTERS!!!

Alright, no time for any attempts at humor or wit. It's the editor's off week, so we'll take what we can get. And what you get, dear listener, is The Oncoming Storm episode 203. In what was supposed to be a short, news free episode, Josh, Ashley, Jeff, and Rachel still manage to go on for over an hour about Jim Mortimore's Eternity Weeps. It's the Benny pilot episode, if you will, and there's lots of relationship issues, violence, and death to talk about. Oh, and the Doctor. Eventually. The Oncoming Storm... this time, really, we're not talking about Jodie.

We know, we're a bit late again, so we won't keep you too long with flowery excuses. Let's get to it! It's episode 202 for The Oncoming Storm, and thanks to the delay, everyone is here to wrap up the story on Fraulein Klein. Josh, Rachel, Jeff, and Ashley are signing up to fight the good fight along UNIT and it's new scientific advisor. And we guess the Doctor can come along too. Both of them! Unit: Dominion by Nicholas Briggs and Jason Arnopp sees the 7th Doctor unwillingly team up with an apparent future version of himself played by Alex MacQueen. You know, I swear I've heard him in another part... but that's probably not important. After that, we come to the final Klein story to date, where we find out Klein's true origins in Daleks Among Us by Alan Barnes. Can you guess which one of these the team liked? Let's find out! The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got giant floating baby heads! You just gotta love Doctor Who.

Alright folks. We've cleaned up the streamers and balloons from the big 200th episode celebration, and now it's time to get back to business! There's only 10 episodes left, and we can't wait time standing around! Episode 201 sees the crew of The Oncoming Storm back on track with the New Adventures. Jeff, Rachel, Ashley, and Josh take turns working on their grief over Roz's death with Bad Therapy by Matt Jones. The Doctor and Chris want to take a break from it all to get over Roz's death. Yeah, it goes as well as you'd expect. There's death, faceless orderlies, and surprising returns! Join us as we count down to the end. We're going out big! The Oncoming Storm... So it's finally here. The bicentennial. The Big 2-0-0. The Oncoming Storm celebrates 200 episodes of Doctor Who books, audios, and comics by acknowledging that they won't get to talk about all of the best non televised adventures of the Doctor before they wrap up, so it's time for a list! Josh, Ashley, Jeff, and Rachel have come to the table with a list of their top five favorite Doctor Who spin off media that won't be covered by the show, and they're gonna tell you why they're worthy of being the best of what's left! At least, that was the idea. It's not long before everyone is cheating and expanding their lists to cover whole swathes of material. But when you have 50 plus years to cover, it's hard to keep it to a top five! Rounding out the episode, we present our special 200th episode panel from Wholanta 2017. It quickly goes off the rails and becomes a Who spin off media 101 panel, but we wanted to include it as a thank you for all of the fine people who woke up on a Sunday morning to come spend time with us! The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got no arguments or infighting, and complement each other's picks! You'd think we gotten somewhat professional after 200 episodes or something.

For the one hundred and ninety ninth time, The Oncoming Storm is back to talk the best and brightest of Doctor Who audios! Well, maybe. There's some contention this week, and it sends the show careening off of the tracks. Again. But at least it's not about River Song this time! It starts off okay, with Josh, Ashley, Rachel, and Jeff talking about Architects of History by Steve Lyons. It wraps up the Klein trilogy in a flourish of time travel bendy-ness! Then the contention starts with the discussion about Charley's swan song with the 8th Doctor, The Girl Who Never Was by Alan Barnes. Bet you can't guess who didn't like this one! Everyone tries to recover to look at the 50th anniversary Companion Chronicle, The Beginning by Marc Platt, but has the damage already been done? All of this, and discussion of the big news of the week that... no one can agree on. The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got so much salt, we put Morton's to shame.

Okay folks. We're hours away from our local convention, Wholanta, and we don't have a lot of time. So lets's do this quickly. Yes, this is episode 198 of the Oncoming Storm. No Jeff isn't here, so you're stuck with Josh, Ashley, and Rachel. Yes, Josh is an idiot, and this is actually the 56th New Adventure, not the 57th. Yes, that means it's So Vile a Sin by Ben Aaronovitch and Kate Orman, the notorious "6 months late, sorry you had to find out about that big surprise in another book" book. No, we won't ruin the surprise here, just in case. And yes, Big Finish did release some big news the day after we recorded. The Oncoming Storm... this time, we've got 99 Doctors but Roz ain't one.

Let this be a lesson to everyone: Never trust technology. It will always betray you. This doesn't have a thing to do with the content of episode 197 of The Oncoming Storm, but the journey to getting there has been one fraught with issues. Just trust your editor, never upgrade your computer and expect everything to work like it used to. You'll get low sound recordings or be unable to make episode logos anymore... oh you want us to actually talk about Doctor Who? Oh, alright. Josh, Ashley, Rachel, and Jeff(eventually) are all here, and they start off by ripping off the bandaid and discussing The Diary of River Song 2 with the first episode, The Unknown by Guy Adams. If they survive that, then it's time for the 1st two parts of the Klein trilogy, A Thousand Tiny Wings by Andy Lane, and Survival of the Fittest by Jonathan Clements. After the fun time discussing that, Jeff makes everyone listen to more Torchwood with One Rule by Joseph Lidster. But hey, at least it doesn't feature any of those lousy Torchwood 3 people! The Oncoming Storm... this time, we've got Nazis again... except this time around, the Nazi is a companion!!!

This week on The Oncoming Storm, we bring you a discussion about a 7th Doctor story wherein he visits a council estate to fight a rogue ancient Time Lord weap... hey, anyone else here have deja vu? It feels like this has already been covered. Well, nevermind. Josh, Ashley, Rachel, and Jeff are here to give what will surely be totally original thoughts about the 55th New Adventure, Damaged Goods by Russell T Davies. Yes, that RTD. But let's forget about the fact that he will be the one to bring back Doctor Who in 2005. Was he a good writer in 1996? No spoilers, but know that there is a consensus rating amongst all hosts this time around! The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got N-Forms. It's... not pleasant.

The storm has arrived... figuratively and literarily! The Oncoming Storm is back with episode 195, and they're brought with then an actual thunderstorm! But a little rain isn't going to stop Josh, Ashley, and Jeff from talking about Doctor Who related audios. (Editor's note: Rachel's absence is totally not rain related) First up, the crew braves flickering power to talk about the conclusion of I, Davros, Guilt by Scott Alan Woodard. Then Ashley makes everyone return to Peladon. Again. This time we get to visit with the old King Peladon in The Prisoner of Peladon by Cavan Scott and Mark Wright, as he struggles to deal with a planet full of Martin refugees. Finally, we cross over to the Eleven Day Empire to talk a little Faction Paradox by looking at the first two releases of the Faction Paradox Protocols by Lawrence Miles. It has Sontarans. Lots of... headless Sontatans. The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got no Aggedor, no Venusian Lullabys... Josh might actually like this stay on Peladon!

How's the old saying go... "I don't know about art, but I know what I like"? In episode 194 of The Oncoming Storm, Josh, Ashley, and Rachel are going to give you their opinions on art, or at least the death of it. This week, its the 54th New Adventure in the hot seat, as they discuss The Death of Art by Simon Bucher-Jones. The 7th Doctor, Roz, and Chris are in turn of the century Paris, and there's psychic shenanigans afoot! Artists are gaining vast mental powers and mutated monsters roam the streets. And let's not forget the killer dolls... actually, wait, let's forget them. But before we get to that, Jeff does join the crew for the news of the week, before abandoning his comrades to the mercy of French mutants. That cad. The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got microscopic aliens with death disc spaceships! Oh, and they live in your body. And the ships pop out of your skin. Sorry about that.

The Oncoming Storm Ep 193: Death in the Family, Test of Nerve, The Crucible of Souls, Bride of Peladon
Buckle in folks. Episode 193 of The Oncoming Storm is bursting at the seams! It's 3 hours of Doctor Who goodness! Now, we know it's a little long, but Ashley, Josh, Rachel, and Jeff just couldn't help themselves. After all, first up they're talking what may be the greatest Big Finish of all time, A Death in the Family by Steven Hall. We needed tissues for this one. But it doesn't stop there! There's a side trip to see What Sarah Jane was up to before The Sarah Jane Adventures in Test of Nerve by David Bishop. Then the team finally finishes out Doom Coalition 3 by reviewing The Crucible of Souls by John Dorney. And lastly, because Ashley demanded it, we go back to Peladon with Bride of Peladon by Barnaby Edwards. So be sure to hydrate and join us for the marathon! Alright, we'll start with a mea culpa: This episode is almost a week late and we're sorry. When the Plague hits, sometimes you can't get a podcast episode out on time. But don't worry, we'll be back on track next week, and believe us, this one is worth the wait. After all, it's not everyday you get to review a 20 year old book and it's brand new audio adaptation in the same episode! Your patience is rewarded, and episode 192 of The Oncoming Storm sees Josh, Ashley, Jeff, and Rachel talking Cold Fusion by Lance Parkin. It begins with the longest recap in history (feel free to skip it), then the crew discusses the novel, before switching gears to rate how well the story adapts to audio! It's a doozy of an episode, with champagne & oysters, the Teganest Tegan, and the dragging out of old arguments that have zero to do with the novel at hand. And oh year, today's our birthday. Huzzah. The Oncoming Storm... this time, we've got not just one, but TWO birthdays. We hope you brought cake.

It's time for episode 191 of The Oncoming Storm! Everyone is super excited to dig into this month's audios... well, most of the team. Josh, Rachel, and Jeff can't wait to get started, but, you guessed it, Ashley is missing again! Okay, not missing exactly, he's in San Francisco, running after a beryllium clock or kissing redheads or something. So what is he missing? Oh, just the culmination of almost 10 years of Big Finish stories! That's right, first up is Project: Destiny by Mark Wright and Cavan Scott, which sees Hex finally find out about his mom and her connection to the Doctor! After that bit of serious drama, how about a detour with pink, vampire hamster toys? Cuddlesome by Nigel Fairs features the 5th Doctor facing an army of the buggers! And finally it's The Doomsday Chronometer by Matt Fitten, the 3rd story in Doom Coalition 3, and we finally have River and the 8th Doctor face to face! It's a night of big moments, so of course Ashley misses it. The Oncoming Storm... this time, we've got killer, pink, vampire hamster toys. They're so ridiculous that we had to mention them twice!

And we're back! Hope everyone had a great holiday. We here at Oncoming Storm HQ all had a wonderful break, but there was one thing missing... heated Doctor Who discussion! Josh, Ashley, Rachel, and Jeff are once more headed into that depth, with some discussion about Return of the Living Dad by Kate Orman. Benny finally finds out what happened to her father, and calls on the Doctor to track him down! Lots of disputed points in this episode, and one of the crew even goes as far as saying this might be their favorite book! But before we can get to the book discussion, there's a months worth of news to talk about, and there's an announcement about the future of the podcast to get through. The Oncoming Storm... this time, we've got a sentient spatula! It's really the best thing in the book.

And so we finally come to the end of 2016, not with a bang or even a whimper, but with a ton of technical problems, distractions, and missing members of the show. Yes, episode 189 of The Oncoming Storm is 2016 in a nutshell; full of good intentions but filled with random disasters. But don't let that scare you off! This supersized send off sees Josh, Ashley, Jeff, and Rachel doing their best to make it through the home stretch. First up is Frozen Time, by Nicholas Briggs. Spoilers: it's Ashley's pick and has Ice Warriors in it! Then it's over to Josh's pick of The Angel of Scutari by Paul Sutton. Hex is doing his nurse thing alongside Florence Nightingale while the Doctor has to ensure that he dies to maintain the web of time! Next is Jeff's holiday pick, Iris Wildthyme and the Claws of Santa by Cavan Scott and Mark Wright. It's every bit as wild as you'd think a story with Iris, Santa Claus, and a wisecracking robot would be. And finally Rachel has the crew stay with Doom Coalition 3 as they review The Eighth Piece by Matt Fitton. It's... not as satisfying as you'd hope, even with River Song in a nun's outfit! Sodomy and Hellfire! Is it time for another episode of The Oncoming Storm already? Rationally speaking, it has been two weeks since the last episode, so history tells us another must come out today. But why be so rational? Josh, Ashley, Jeff, and Rachel are here in episode 188 to determine if they should stick to rationality, or just blow it all off and go and play with the gynoids. The topic, of course, is Christmas on a Rational Planet by Lawrence Miles. The Doctor, Roz, and Chris must stave off the forces of the Carnival Queen and her irrational forces of Cacophony... but are they making the right choice? And no discussion of Miles's first book would be complete without complete tangents about the man himself. There are lots of those this episode, but with a figure like Lawrence Miles, how can you not? The Oncoming Storm... Buggery and Damnation, This time we're got the most creative swearing you'll ever find in a Doctor Who Story.

The Oncoming Storm Ep 187: For Sacha - Enemy of the Daleks, Psychodrome, Fallen Angels, Absent Friends
Honestly, there's not much to say this week. The Oncoming Storm has lost one of it's own this week, and we're devastated. Sacha hasn't been on the show for well over a year due to his schedule and health issues, but he has remained a member of our dysfunctional family and we were expecting his return sooner rather than later. Sadly, Sacha passed away on 11/14/2016, due to complications during surgery. Episode 187 then, is dedicated entirely to the memory of Sacha Dzuba. Josh, Ashley, Rachel, and Jeff first come together to say a few things about their friend, and then because it's what he would have wanted, they spend two hours deep in geeky Doctor Who conversation. They cover Enemy of the Daleks by David Bishop, Psychodrome by Jonathan Morris, Fallen Angels by Phil Mulryne, and in an unfair twist of fate, Absent Friends by John Dorney. The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got a lot of tears. We miss you already Sacha.

Episode 186 of the Oncoming Storm finally gives the Ice Warriors their due, as Ashley, Josh, Jeff, and Rachel discuss GodEngine, by Craig Hinton. Spoiler Alert: Ashley really likes this book. That was never in doubt. But will the rest of the podcast feel the same? Or will the arguments continue? That we won't spoil. You have to listen to find out! The Oncoming Storm... The Oncoming Storm Ep 185: The Magic Mousetrap, Iterations of I, Deadly Download, The Horror of Glam Rock
So, remember the last time The Oncoming Storm reviewed audios, and how no one got along? Well, welcome to the sequel! And with all sequels, its bigger and bloodier than ever! The Oncoming Storm episode 185 sees Josh, Jeff, Ashley, and Rachel lacing up their boxing gloves and getting into the ring of online reviews! The first bout is over The Magic Mousetrap by Matthew Sweet. Things get a little heated as they discuss this 7th Doctor story about memory and the return of an old foe. Luckily, everyone gets a breather when Iterations of I by John Dorney is discussed, and everyone enjoys the return of Adric! It doesn't last though when the Sarah Jane Adventures story, Deadly Download by Jason Arnopp is the subject and Josh gets a bee in his bonnet over it! Not to be outdone, Jeff has serious issues as we visit The Horror of Glam Rock by Paul Magrs. Jeff REALLY doesn't like Josh and Rachel's beloved Glam music, and isn't afraid to show it! Does everyone make it out alive? Will Ashley get a word in anywhere? Join us and find out! The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got swears galore. Josh is a potty mouth. Are you here with the bride or the groom? Quickly, take your seat. Here's some rice to throw after the ceremony, and would you like to get in on the betting pool of how far into the ceremony we went before one of them storms off? Quietly now, now go sit down... Ahem. Welcome one and all to the wedding of the century! Yes, we are here to celebrate the pending nuptials of Mr. Jason Kane and Miss Bernice Surprise Summerfield. Everyone's here. Look, there's Josh, Ashley, Rachel, and Jeff of the Oncoming Storm podcast. I'll bet they're working on episode 184 of their show while they want. The subject just has to be the grand 50th New Adventure, Happy Endings by Paul Cornell. They're probably gossiping about how all of the Doctor's new adventures get call backs, or the sensational scandals that arose in the days before the wedding. I did hear that Josh finally checked his twitter after two months, and has commented on all of those tweets this week! What a cad. But just wait until you hear about that Ace! The Oncoming Storm... It's episode 183 of the Oncoming Storm, and no one's getting along! Josh is definitely not getting along with his computer, as Skype keeps switching his microphone from the nice one to the crappy desktop one. (apologies everyone for the audio quality on this one. It won't happen again) It gets worse once the reviews start, when Josh, Ashley, Rachel, and Jeff cannot seem to come to a consensus on ANYTHING. First up, we finally get to Blood of the Daleks part 2 by Steve Lyons, and the Lucie Miller arguments start! Next, Matt Smith reads The Runaway Train by Oli Smith. And the arguments about format and the Moffat era start! After that, we talk 45, by Mark Morris, Nick Scovell, Mark Michalowski, and Steven Hall. Honestly, we all pretty much agree on the great parts of this one. But finally, it's time to discuss 10th Doctor story Technophobia by Matt Fitton. And you guessed it, the arguments on Tennant and RTD start. It's gonna be one of those episodes. The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got waaaaaay too many stories to discuss. Find a comfortable seat before listening.

In episode 182 of The Oncoming Storm, we not not just 1 host, or 3, or even 4... we have 5 hosts here to accompany you through the halls of Doctor Who spinoff media! Ok, so one of them is a 1 year old who seemingly really doesn't like Doctor Who books based on his reactions, but what can you do? While Ashley tries to wrangle baby Ian, we have the full crew of Josh, Jeff, and Rachel joining him once again, and this week they're looking at all of the foreplay and carnage found in Death & Diplomacy by Dave Stone. There's sex, violence, peace talks, and a wedding proposal within... does that mean it's as crazy as Stone's previous New Adventure? You may be surprised! There's also all the usual news discussion you've come to expect, this week accompanied by a rant from Josh and the fulfillment of a life long dream for Rachel! The Oncoming Storm... This time, we got homicidal smurf things. Haven't we done this before???

Episode 181 of The Oncoming Storm marks a milestone of sorts. For months Josh has dodged the new Torchwood audios from Big Finish. After the last straw experience of Miracle Day, he was ready to never return to the world of Captain Jack and his crew. But Jeff wouldn't let that stand, and this month forces Josh and Ashley to listen to Fall to Earth by James Goss. There's gonna be fireworks folks! Meanwhile, Josh gets back to the most important Big Finish storyline, that of the 7th Doctor, Ace, and Hex as we go back to World War 1 in No Man's Land by Martin Day. Finally, Ashley brings the last Rocket Men story, Requiem for the Rocket Men by John Dorney, to the table. I wonder if they'll like that one? The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got the best damn insurance salesperson known to humankind. If my insurance person was as good as her, I'd own every possible insurance too!

*YAWN* So tired. After days of driving and all nighters playing games, The Oncoming Storm is back from vacation. And honestly, no one is really feeling up to podcasting. You might say, we're all... Sleepy. Ok, Ok, bad jokes aside, Josh, Jeff, and Rachel are here in episode 180 to discuss SLEEPY, our latest New Adventure by illustrious author Kate Orman. This one does not, however, focus on everyone taking sweet, wonderful naps. No, it's the real start of the Psi Powers series, and so we have a colony world on the brink of destruction from the spontaneous development of Psi powers everywhere! And only the Doctor and his companions can stop the evil corporations from enacting their plans and killing everyone on sight. There's also some timey whimey shenanigans going on, and lots of talking computers. And Doctor torture. Well, it *is* Kate Orman. All this, and Rachel tells us about the first half of The Legends of River Song short story collection. Josh promises to be quiet. The Oncoming Storm... this time, we've got a lot of bleeding eye sockets. Like, a LOT.

The staff of The Oncoming Storm podcast would sincerely like to apologize for the slapdash nature of Episode 179. Lackadaisical editor and host Josh is anxiously awaiting his vacation to begin, and really can't be bothered to mentally show up for the show, much less do any real editing and releasing the podcast on time. Luckily Jeff and Ashley are around to try and salvage things, but there's only so much they can do, especially with Rachel off for birthday shenanigans. The three stooges do their best to discuss The Mahogany Murderers from Andy Lane, except Josh has forgotten all about Jago and Litefoot's backdoor pilot. The Return of the Rocket Men by Matt Fitton fairs a little better as Steven's timey whimey adventure causes the team to rally, but will the 2 and a half hour magnum opus, Masters of War by Eddie Robson do them in? Join us and find out! The Oncoming Storm... This time, we don't even care. See you on the other side of vacation!

That's right gentle listener, Josh, Ashley, Rachel, and Jeff are here to look at Andrew Cartmel's final New Adventure, Warchild. Now, before you start tying the noose, let us assure you, it's not as bad as last time. I mean... there is the rampant dog death, the relationship ending adultery, and lots of High School bullying, but hey, at least there's no POV kitten death this time! Count your blessings. So let's join the excitement as the Doctor defrosts a naked guy for 200 pages and enjoy the next exciting new adventure of Creed and his family! The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got telepathic killer dogs! Yeah, that part's pretty cool.

Welcome back gentle listener! We've been teasing it for the last several shows, and now the era of Host's Audio Choice begins! Well, kinda. The Oncoming Storm episode 177 does see Josh, Ashley, and Rachel here to kick things off, but because of various scheduling changes and snafus, Jeff is unable to share his choice this week. But that's okay, because we filled up two hours talking about the 3 selections we do have as it is! First up is Ashley's choice, The Rocket Men, by John Dorney. This companion chronicle sees Ian face off against the dastardly Rocket Men, and face a personal revelation that's been a long time coming! Then it's off to Red Rocket Rising, as Lucie Miller joins the TARDIS in Rachel's pick, Blood of the Daleks part 1, by Steve Lyons. And finally, Josh brings us Sympathy for the Devil, the Doctor Who Unbound story that asks, "What if the Doctor didn't become UNIT's Scientific Advisor. It also features the talent of a few gentlemen by the name of David Warner, Nicolas Courtney, and David Tennant! The Oncoming Storm... this time, we've got no news! No appetizer needed this time around!

Wie Geht's? Wunderbar! <cough cough> ahem. Sorry, sorry. We've spent just a little too long in World War 2 and the Nazi invasion of Britain! Oh yes, it happened! And in episode 176 of the Oncoming Storm, we're going to tell you all about it! That's right, Josh, Ashley, and Rachel are here to take you through Just War, by Lance Parkin. After bemoaning the fact that Parkin managed to produce this masterpiece as his first novel at the tender age of 22 (what have we done with our lives?), your hosts take you back once again to confront Nazis in what is sure to be a rip roaring adv... wait, they do *what* to Benny??? Oh boy. Well, surely the Doctor heroically saves h... ummmm, okay. At least Chris is James Bonding his way around France. And Roz gets engaged! The Oncoming Storm... This time, We've got Nazis! Again. It's not as fun to see them this time.

Whew! We. are. EXHAUSTED. The Oncoming Storm has just gotten back from Timegate 2016, and we're all so tired that we can't even manage a discussion about what we had for lunch, much less an in depth look at some book or audio. But never fear! You're going to want to listen to episode 175 regardless, because we're taking you back in time a few days so you can experience a little bit of the convention! And this isn't just a any part of the convention, this is the interview panel that Josh and Ashley did with Big Finish executive producers Nicholas Briggs and Jason Haigh-Ellery! Join as we ask them everything from what it's like to decide to kill a companion to the age old question, "Bernice Summerfield or River Sing?". And a fair warning, the audio from our handheld recorder is a little low, so you may have to up the volume a bit, but you should be able to hear most everything. The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got a live studio audience! We'll be ready for our new sitcom any day now.

Hello again, Sweeties! That's right, River Song is back... but is about time? Or way too soon? That's what Josh, Ashley, and Rachel are looking to find out in episode 174 of The Oncoming Storm! This time around, River is popping up in the latest 8th Doctor Box set, Doom Coalition 2. But before we can get to River in the set, there are 3 other stories to discuss. Beachhead by Nicolas Briggs sees the Doctor facing off against the Voord once more. Then a new villain hits the scene in Scenes from her Life by John Dorney. The Doctor heads back to San Francisco in 1906 to stop the plans of the new villain in The Gift by Marc Platt. And finally, River makes her return in The Sonomancer by Matt Fitton. Will it be a knock down drag out like the last time River was discussed? Or will yours actually <gasp> agree? The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got the best damn 8th Doctor companion since Fitz Kreiner. And I'll stand by that!

After 173 episodes, The Oncoming Storm finally gets to go on it's shakedown cruise, ironing out all of the little things before they do this for real! No? Oh. We're sorry. No, still the same group of amateur know-it-alls. Well then, how about reviewing Shakedown instead? Yes, it's the novel of the film you've never heard of, now with added Doctor Who! And its the return of Uncle Terrance to the New Adventures. I'm sure Josh will be thrilled. Hopefully Ashley, Jeff, and returning goddess Rachel can keep him straight. And after that, the team looks at the crowd funded 1960's British pop culture inspired team up book, The Imperium. And promptly awkwardly start discussing the 2nd Doctor's sex life. It's relevant, if icky. The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got Ogrons, Sontarans, and Rutans, Oh My!

As 2016 continues it's monstrous march to kill off as many icons as it can, The Oncoming Storm team huddles in its bunker, hoping to avoid drawing the attention of the specter of death to Doctor Who. Afraid to go outside, Josh, Ashley, and Jeff do the only thing they really know how to do, and that's listen to Big Finish! This month, the focus is on the awaited return of the War Doctor, with his second box set, Infernal Devices. Will this finally deliver the Time War story the boys have been waiting on? Once that is accomplished, then it's back to the monthly range to discuss Hex's adventures in history in The Settling by Simon Guerrier and the 8th's Doctor's monthly memory loss in Something Inside. One of these stories has the unfortunate luck to feature something called the 'brain worm'. Can you guess which one? The Oncoming Storm... This time, we're got kinky shock collars, cuz only the best for the Doctor.

The moment Josh has been waiting for has finally arrived. After a short delay at Oncoming Storm HQ, episode 171 sees Josh, Ashley, and Jeff reviewing Josh's favorite New Adventure (and, let's be honest, favorite Doctor Who book and one of the his favorite books period) The Also People, by Ben Aaronovitch . It's a quaint story where the Doctor meets God. OK, not that God, but a hyper intelligent artificial intelligence that sees over the People, a race composed of people both biological and mechanical that lives inside a Dyson Sphere. Oh, and Kadiatu is there too. But she's kinda feral crazy, and the Doctor may have to kill her. As you do. Anyway, come see if Ashley and Jeff are wise enough to join Josh in the cult of The Also People, or if they just have no taste at all. The Oncoming Storm... this time, we've got a talking parachute. And a talking fish. Honestly, pretty much everything in the Dyson Sphere talks. I bet going to the bathroom is awkward there.

Gather round everyone, but not too close! That's right, it's time for another illness filled episode of The Oncoming Storm! In what is seemingly becoming an annual event, episode 170 sees two out of the three hosts present felled by illness. This time it's Josh and Jeff trying to cope, and Ashley, well, he's Ashley. Expect a lot of ramblings from Josh as he valiantly tries to remember what the stories were actually about. First up is the Phillip Hinchcliffe Presents box set, by, surprisingly, Phillip Hinchcliffe with some back up from Marc Platt. The discussion is filled with more cold medicine fueled debates about what exactly qualifies as "Hinchcliffian" than story talk. Sorry. Then there's Time Works by Steve Lyons, where most everyone manages to stay on topic to discuss the time displaced 8th Doctor in an adventure featuring some very corporate clockwork men. Finally, it's on to The Kingmaker by Nev Fountain, which everyone agrees is very good, but then spends an inordinate amount of time arguing about what qualifies as anachronistic. The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got Nyquil, a whole lotta Nyquil.

Whew! Have any of you actually come back for episode 169? After last episode's drama, it's probably a good idea to sit back, relax, and talk about something a lot less likely to draw everyone into an argument. Sounds like the perfect time to discuss the nature of the 7th Doctor and the entirety of the New Adventures line! This week's episode of the Oncoming Storm sees Josh, Ashley, and Jeff discussing Head Games, by Steve Lyons. Is it a damning condemnation of the 7th Doctor, or a validation of doing what he must? And just what is that screaming redhead doing here? All of this will be examined, as well as the news and what Jeff thinks about the audio version of All Consuming Fire! The Oncoming Storm... This Time, there's no swearing. At least, not by us. This book does feature Ace, Benny, and Roz after all. Time Stamps News- 5:27 Head Games- 37:05 All Consuming Fire- 01:36:29

Well folks, making a podcast can be a tricky thing. The Oncoming Storm is no different. Sometimes you have technical problems, sometimes you have disagreements, and sometimes, only in the rarest of circumstances, you roll snake eyes, and NOTHING goes right. For Josh, Ashley, Rachel, and Jeff, this is that night. Episode 168 is trying to give you the latest news, and discuss Pier Pressure by Robert Ross, Night Thoughts by Edward Young, and The Diary of River Song Vol 1. And all of those things are there, it's just... well you'll have to hear for yourself. Oh, and FYI, we think we've censored all the cursing, but we're still marking it explicit, just in case. We can only hope that when the fandom civil war starts, it's not our fault. The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got bleeps. A whole lotta bleeps.

As the snows start falling on the southeastern states, The Oncoming storm is snuggled up by the fire to get some reading done, and they're finally ready to tell you about it in episode 167! Josh, Ashley, and Jeff are here to tell you what they've been reading. Well, Josh and Jeff are, Ashley didn't finish his homework! First up is Millennial Rites by Craig Hinton, as the 6th Doctor faces his inner Valeyard amongst the return of The Great Intelligence. Then we get to something Ashley can contribute to, as we talk about the audio adaptation of All-Consuming Fire by Andy Lane, adapted by Guy Adams. The grand finale is Josh's review of Blood Heat: The Director's Cut by Jim Mortimore, which includes some last minute comments from the author himself. The Oncoming Storm... This time, all of our clothes have turned into long black cloaks for some reason. Hide the babies!

The Oncoming Storm.. NO MORE! That's right, due to the unspeakable acts The Oncoming Storm podcast has committed since we changed to the new format, we cannot call ourselves that anymore. What acts, you ask? Well... we're not gonna show or tell you, but trust us, we've been horrible, so just believe us okay? In our new role in the universe, we're going to do things you'd never think we'd ever do in episode 166... COVER SOME BIG FINISH AUDIO STORIES!!! First up is The War Doctor: Only the Monstrous by Nicolas Briggs. Then we go to Russia to talk about Moose and Squirrel Singularity by James Swallow. And finally, we put on our best Victorian fashion and head to the Crystal Palace for Other Lives by Gary Hopkins. Oh, and then Jeff gives us rapid fire reviews of every audio ever. The show formerly known as The Oncoming Storm... This time, You don't wanna get mixed up with a show like us. We're a loner, Dottie. A rebel.

The Oncoming Storm is back from the holidays! Stuffed full of plumb pudding and turkey, Josh, Ashley, Rachel, and Jeff decide that it's not too late to get away with doing a 2015 retrospective. So with that in mind, they've come with their top 5 releases of 2015, the top 5 subjects covered by the show in 2015, and the top 5 things to look forward to in 2016! But before they can get to all of that, there's all the news out from over the holidays, showing us that we're going to have a Master-ful year in 2016. And, of course, there was a little film called Star Wars that came out over the break, and Ashley... and Jeff... and Josh... can't wait to tell you all about it! The Oncoming Storm... This time, this year, we've got River Song. Just a metric ton of River Song. Just give up, accept it, and welcome our new curly headed overlord.

Star Wars Star Wars Star Wars. Star Wars? Star Wars. STAR WARS! <oof> Gimme that! That's enough of that, Ashley! We still have a show to run, one that is NOT Star Wars related! Remember? <ahem> The Oncoming Storm episode 164 sees Josh, Ashley, Jeff, and Rachel look at Toy Soldiers, by Paul Leonard. And that's the only thing looked at this week, because some people can't tear their minds from a galaxy far, far away! But we digress. Toy Soldiers sees the Doctor, Benny, Roz, and Chris trying to break up a teddy bear child slavery ring. Oh, yes it is! Kids are being kidnapped to fit in an interstellar war, and, well, its not pretty. Will your hosts enjoy this dark commentary on war, or will it cause them to run for the trenches? The Oncoming Storm... This time we... yeah. Ok. I know... Star Wars.

Sorry folks. No witty intro this week. Illness has decimated Oncoming Storm HQ, so just be glad we were able to get this episode out, although it's a day late. Anyway, episode 162 sees Josh, Ashley, Rachel, and Jeff talking about New Adventure #40, Zamper by Gareth Roberts. After that, it's comic talk again, with a look at the entire run of The 4 Doctors by Paul Cornell & Neil Edwards, as well as the first issue of The 8th Doctor, by George Mann and Emma Viecelli. We hope you enjoy. Now if you'll excuse me, we're going back to bed. The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got the flu.

Hello everyone! Oh shut up. Yes, why are you talking directly to the listeners? Leave him alone, we can break the 4th wall if we want to! SHUT UP, ALL OF YOU! How can we do the introduction to The Oncoming Storm if all of you keep talking over me?!? Sorry, ignore them. Just the previous incarnations of the podcast speaking up in my head. So where were we? Oh yes, this week Josh, Ashley, Rachel, and Jeff are back to talk about Big Finish's newest box set, Doom Coalition! The 8th Doctor faces off against a new foe, The Eleven, a Time Lord with all of his previous incarnations still living in his head! After that, we go back and see what happened when the 8th Doctor returned from the Divergent Universe in Terra Firma by Joseph Lidster. Finally, we see the brilliant Evelyn Smythe take leave of the TARDIS in Thicker Than Water by Paul Sutton. It's a loaded episode, that's for sure! The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got no Star Wars take for a change! That should last all of an episode or two.

For tonight, we be discussing Sky Pirates! Captain Josh and First Mate Ashley are sailing alone for this voyage, and with no one to stop the filthy curs, ye know that thar be discussion of the good ol' days, arguments, and not a little Star Wars talk! Sky Pirates! by Dave Stone is the main target this week, with a wee dingy of a review from The Scientific Secrets of Doctor Who! The Oncoming Storm... AH-CHOO! Sorry, Sorry, the weather is starting to change here at Oncoming Storm HQ and that means one thing: It's time for everyone to get sick again. Josh, Ashley, and Rachel are the lucky ones. They're still about to talk. Poor Jeff however... the less said the better. But the hosts who are able to make it prop themselves up on Codine and prepare to talk about what they've listened to in September. First up is Unregenerate! by David A. McIntee. Does this story of an insane 7th Doctor being busted out of a peculiar mental hospital deserve the exclamation point? Then it's time for The Council of Nicaea by Caroline Symcox, as Erimem asked the age old question of the Doctor,'Why can't I change the past?'. Wrapping our coverage is our first review of a Big Finish Tom Baker story! It's The Romance of Crime by Gareth Roberts, adapted by John Dorney. Find out how well this adapts the novel and if Tom and Lalla can recapture that old magic! All this and news that will have have you saying, "Yes, More!". The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got a nitpicky Josh, a high Ashley, and a Rachel that doesn't like Douglas Adams?!? Say it ain't so!

The Oncoming Storm Ep 158: Original Sin, Big Bang Generation, Scientific Secrets of Doctor Who, and a whole bunch of comics
Computers are a heck of a thing. They're wonderful tools to help us in everyday life... until they're not. Then they're either not working for 2 hours as you try to record a podcast, or trying to take over the world, like in this week's feature New Adventure, Original Sin by Andy Lane. Josh, Ashley, Rachel, and Jeff do their best to overcome their computer issues, as well as a week's worth of personal issues, to come together to discuss what they've read in the last month. Too bad none of them have read the same things! They finally get it together enough to have a late night discussion of Original Sin, Big Bang Generation by Gary Russell, The Scientific Secrets of Doctor Who, and a mess of Titan Doctor Who comics! The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got a bunch of tired, brain dead hosts! Do forgive them if they spew nonsense.

Has it been two weeks already? Did you doubt we'd come back? Never fear, we wouldn't do that to you again so soon! And we still have so much Doctor Who to talk about from over the summer. We weren't just reading books and comics, there audios! Soooooo many audios! This week, three musketeers Josh, Ashley, and Jeff try to wade through just a little bit of what they listened to over the summer. And barely make a dent in the list. However, the do manage to listen to some of the best of Big Finish... and the worst. First up is New Adventure adaptation Damaged Goods, by Russell T himself, adapted by Jonathan Morris. Spoilers: It's really good. Then we join Ms. Bernice Summerfield as she, the Doctor and Ace try to fight against The Triumph of Sutekh! Back on our retro review list, we have Three's a Crowd by Colin Brake, and Catch 1782 by Alison Lawson. These reviews do not go well. Neither does the news for that matter, as Josh is missing something very important to him! The Oncoming Storm... This time, we don't have delivered Doctor Who books even though Amazon says they were! The Postman is gonna hear about this...

THEY'RE BACK... AND IT'S ABOUT TIME. Ok, ok, pastiches about bad network taglines aside, The Oncoming Storm is really back! In other words, the hiatus is over and we're back on schedule. It's time for a new for some changes at Oncoming Storm HQ, and it's not a moment too soon. Assuming any of you are left still listening, Josh, Ashley, Rachel, and newly minted as permanent host Jeff are here to tell you all about what they've been reading over the last month. This includes seminal New Adventure Human Nature by Paul Cornell, the 12th Doctor comic issues 6-8, and the first two issues of the brand new 4 Doctors comic, also written by Mr. Cornell. Ashley's also got a behind the scenes look at pitching for the new Erimem series, and of course, there's the news! It's a jammed pack episode to welcome us all back to the show! The Oncoming Storm... this time, we've got a brand new bi-weekly schedule! Hey, at least now you only have to put up with hearing our nonsense every *other* week now!

Miss us? Okay, don't answer that. But if you did miss us, just a little bit.. here's our second summer '15 special to hold you over until we're back for good... IN JUST TWO MORE WEEKS! That's right, break out the party gear, because The Oncoming Storm is back baby, August 27! So while you're marking that on your calendar, we have a treat for you here. This week, Josh, Ashley, and Jeff talk to one of the brains behind The Imperium! In case you're not aware, The Imperium is a new comic book seeking funding from people like us, people who like the Doctor, or James Bond, or Emma Peel... because you see, it has all of them in one comic book! (Or at least as close that a non IP infringing comic can go) If you've ever read Alan Moore's "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen", then you're looking at the 1960's British TV equivalent of it! Needless to say, we here at Oncoming Storm HQ are very excited for this, and we got to sit down with creator Tzvi Lebetkin to talk about the genesis of this project, as well as Tzvi's project that put him on our radar, The Ice Warriors comic strip! Put on your power armor, because you know Ashley's got a lot to say about that! The Oncoming Storm... This time, we're shamelessly asking for support! Go Check out The Imperium at https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/the-imperium-pilot--2#/story You won't regret it!

Hey, we said we'd put in an appearance or two while we were on hiatus! And by popular demand, we're doing a special summer episode, just like DWM used to do back in the day! So what's the reason for getting in from the beach? Why, there just happened to be some monumental news coming out of Big Finish land, and Josh, Ashley, Rachel, and Jeff just *had* to talk about it! And as a bonus to round out the episode, we have the Big Finish panel that Josh and Rachel did at the Timegate convention on Sunday morning. (Warning: Sunday morning panels are the worst! Be prepared for hungover brain addled panelists!) It ends up being kind of a Big Finish 101 panel, but hey, at least that means new people are still coming to Big Finish! The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got SPOILERS SWEETIE!

On episode 155 of The Oncoming Storm, things are a little bit weird around Oncoming Storm HQ. No, it has nothing to do with this week's story, the New Adventure Sanctuary, by David A McIntee. It has more to do with the fact that on the day of recording, our expected threesome for the night became a duo after Ashley's wife goes into labor two weeks early! It throws off *all* of the carefully laid plans the podcast had this week, but Josh and Rachel do their best to go it alone. They talk news, medieval France, and the best gosh durn Benny showcase since her debut. And what's this crazy talk about a hiatus? Find out, on the season finale of The Oncoming Storm! The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got a baby! Well, now we do; we didn't when this was recorded. But he had to come out eventually right?

G'Day Mates! Through another shrimp on the barbie, because the Doctor is heading to the Outback of Australia! ... <WHACK> Sorry, sorry. We've 'sacked' the normal description guy. We here at the Oncoming Storm will not tolerate such cliché openings! Yes, this week's story, Dreamtime by Simon A. Forward, does see the Doctor, Ace, and Hex arrive at a floating, Australian city in space. And yes, the story is filled with a ton of Australian accents. But it's about so much more than that! Like mysticism! The mysticism of the Australian Outback. And... bullroarers. Crikey. Forget it. Bring on the Koalas. The Oncoming Storm... oh oh! This time, we've got those alien bird lizard guys again! They're not Australian!

We here at The Oncoming Storm are big fans of the Sportsball! Indeed, there's nothing more that we like to do than sit back with out favorite cocktail, watch the players take to the pitch, throw around the basesball, and score lots of touchdowns! That's why we couldn't be more excited to talk about The Game, by Darin Henry. It's all about the Doctor getting involved in the sport of Naxy, the national sport of the world of Cray. I'm sure it will be a bracing time! There's also some sort of war and William Russell is involved somehow. So throw on your cleats, and let's get down to it! The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got the original story River Song was pilfered from. Again.

"Let's Do the Time Warp Again!" Er, well, I guess that applies to any episode since this is podcast about a show about time travel. But this episode is especially warpy! Episode 152 of The Oncoming Storm sees your hosts talking about The Highest Science by Gareth Roberts. Again. But this time it is a bit different. This time it's all about the audio adaptation from Jac Raynor. After 20 years, the Chelonians are finally brought to life! Join Josh, Rachel, and Jeff as they discuss how successful the move to audio is, the brilliance of Sylvester McCoy and Lisa Bowerman, and exactly how they prefer to digest their Who. The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got a brain with vocal cords! It talks! Kinda annoyingly actually.

Are you kidding? Well. alright, Newsapalooza 2015 begins here! Prepare for the some loopy hosts talking almost an hour of news! Oh, and we cover Infinite Requiem by Daniel Blythe. It's just as good as you don't remember. The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got... something. I'm sure something happened in this book. But we're buggered if we can remember it.

Anniversaries. They say that after awhile, they're just another day. And here at The Oncoming Storm, we couldn't agree more. That's why in episode 150, Josh, Ashley, Rachel, and Jeff waste no time on marking the number of episodes. No one got time for that. So they spend their time instead looking at The Juggernauts by Scott Alan Woodard. Where to begin with this one? Shall we start with the Doctor? Or how about Mel and her new lease on life? Or maybe Davros? The Daleks? The Mechanoids? What, the Mechanoids? Are you serious? All of this, and a discussion of what's the better flavor of Daleks; with Davros or without? The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got soulless corporate stooges! Yeah, I know, it's not that impressive, but we already covered all the cool stuff a few lines ago!

It's been quite the week at Oncoming Storm HQ. There have been funerals, chipped teeth, technical glitches, any number of problems. Oh, and that pesky time scoop. But we don't little things like the Game of Rassilon stop us here at the Oncoming Storm. This week's story on the other hand... Nevertheless, Josh, Jeff, Rachel, and Ashley are here to take through the week's news and talk about The Next Life, by Alan Barnes and Gary Russell. We've come to the end of the Divergent Universe. Will it all be worth it here at the end? What do you think? The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got Rassilon! Yeah, don't get to excited. He gets shown up by a Frenchman, a talking lizard person, and a dead woman.

Sometimes, you just need a bad guy who's bad, just for the sake of being bad. Forget nuance, forget motivation. Nope, just a desire to kill, conquer, or destroy because they want to. This is the tao of Ashley Raburn. And luckily for him, episode 148 of the Oncoming Storm delivers this in spades. This week Ashley, Josh, and Jeff review issues 3 - 5 of the Titan 12th Doctor comic, covering the Swords of Kali story. The Doctor and Clara are summoned by an old friend to India to face a force of extradimensional entities that live to do nothing more than eat the lifeforce of humans. It's what they do. Did you know that there's a lot of evil devils and stuff in Indian mythology? Totally these guys. They evidently have a taste for Indian food. The Oncoming Storm... This time, KALI MA! KALI MA SHAKTI DE!

It's the end. But the moment has been prepared for. You know, for Ace. Yes, it's time for bidding adieu, the Dorthy McShane version. Episode 147 of The Oncoming Storm has Josh, Ashley, and Rachel back on the New Adventure train, and this week it's Set Piece by Kate Orman. And yes, spoilers, this one features Ace's final story as a companion. After 2 seasons and 30 books, Ace is finally moving out of the TARDIS. Does it end in tears, a marriage, or just the best ever companion leaving story? One of these might just be true. So join your hosts in rising a glass to one of the best companions EVER, in celebration of her swan song. There may not be a dry eye in the house by the time this one is over. The Oncoming Storm... This time, it's all about what we don't have anymore. Au Revoir, Ace.

Hello again everyone, and welcome to another excitng episode of The Oncoming Storm! Exciting? Yes, exciting! Like that time I played tiddlywinks with Einstein and Newton to decide who was the better scientist! Oh, don't make to big a deal out of it, it's just another Divergent Universe story, so it will probably stink...
Oh dear. It appears we've been split into 3 separate aspects of ourselves! That can only mean one thing: This week we're discussing Caerdroia by the fabulous Lloyd Rose. In what has to be the average Tumblr user's wet dream, this story sees not just one, nor two, but 3 Paul McGanns featured in this audio story. Once everyone has calmed down from this but of news, join Josh, Ashley, Rachel, and Jeff as they try to figure out if 3 Paul McGanns is better than 1! (Spoilers: What do you think? Duh.) The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got some string. I know, it pales to the McGanns, but it is ever so useful.

We here at The Oncoming Storm can't begin to tell you excited we are for today's story! You see, today, Josh, Ashley, Rachel, and Jeff are talking about The Last, by Gary Hopkins. We know things haven't been all sunshine and roses for the Big Finish stories lately, what with us being stuck in the Divergent Universe and all. But today, it all ends! With a title like The Last, we've come to the end of the Divergent Universe right? Right? Hello? Sigh. Fine. I guess we'll just do the story where everything dies, except the stupid Divergent Universe. The Oncoming Storm... This Time, we've got Effie from the Hunger Games! But totally crazier.

One is a tall, white, chameleon -like entity that seems to change his appearance at will. The other is an alien robot named ARC! So grab your protein pills, put your helmet on, and enjoy the show! The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got BOWIE. This is not a drill. Prepare for imminent Josh geek out.

So here we are. The grand finale of the three book run of New Adventures seemingly dedicated to pain and suffering! Which is itself really the second part of an actual trilogy! That's right, this week sees The Oncoming Storm tackle Warlock by Andrew Cartmel, in episode 143. After months of reading about the TARDIS crew being punished, tortured, and killed, can Josh, Ashley, and Rachel be able to make it through a book about animal experimentation and personal loss? With the Doctor on the trail of a new drug named Warlock, will your hosts need to resort to drugs themselves to make it through the trippy experiences they're reading about? And most interesting of all, will they realize just how good a book about these things can be, even if the Doctor is hardly in it? The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got audio problems! Yeah, Mea Culpa, but hopefully we've figured it out for next time. If it's a problem for you, just take some mind altering drugs. It'll help you fit right in with this episode.

It's time for episode 141 of The Oncoming Storm! Josh, Ashley, and Jeff are your hosts this week, and this one is a doozey! They talk about new UNIT adventures, the 6th Doctor's death, new books, Doctor Who Legos... the list just goes on and on. Then, Josh brings you his mini review of the new charity anthology 'Seasons of War'! Whew, what an episode! The Onco- what? You want an actual review as well? Fine, fine. Eventually, your hosts get to discussing Medicinal Purposes, by Robert Ross. It's got the 6th Doctor and Evelyn hanging out with famed killers Burke and Hare. And yes, it's the one with David Tennant going full... well, you know. Anyway, we hope you enjoy it. The Oncoming Storm... this time, we've got ladies of the night! Of, erm, varying qualities.

Boy. Titan Comics sure likes Doctor Who eh? Soon there will be 4 ongoing monthly titles! How's a podcast supposed to keep up with that? The Oncoming Storm is going to try their best though, so this week's episode sees Josh, Ashley, and JEff looking over issues 3 to 6 of the 10th Doctor comic from Titan Comics. One thing's for sure: everyone loves Elena Casagrande. But what about everything else? Warning: This episode contains what may be the most pedantic, off topic geek debate in Oncoming Storm History! The Oncoming Storm... This time, it's Angels. We've got Angels. Again. Well. Jeff likes 'em at least.

<Burp>! Sorry. Must have been something we ate. All I know now is that our stomachs *really* hurt, and everyone here at The Oncoming Storm is now trying to dive into random pools of water! Troopers that they are though, Josh, Ashley, and Rachel are still here to do episode 139! This week's topic is the New Adventure Parasite by Jim Mortimore. It's one of those Artifact science fiction stories, where The Doctor, Ace, and Benny land on a mysterious alien artifact world that no one understands. Then things go a bit wrong. This book is known for it's violence and horror, but what will your hosts make of it? Everyone seems to like it... but Ashley and Josh seemingly can't agree on anything about it! Listen and find out why. The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got 7 limbed alien talking monkeys! Score!

In the mountains of Tibet, an ancient force has awoken and is taking over minds, one by one, to help in it's plan to take over the world. No, The Oncoming Storm isn't changing format to talk about missing stories like The Abominable Snowmen. No, this week, Josh and Ashley, with guests Jeff and Dr. Scott, are looking at that *other* story that takes place in Tibet, The Roof of the World by Adrian Rigelsford. No, No, not the episode of Marco Polo. The Big Finish audio. The one that features the 5th Doctor, Peri, and Erimem fighting an evil from the dawn of time that had been trapped by ancient Egyptians. In Tibet. And in a coincidence that totally have nothing to do with anything related to this week's story, we discuss what you do when you find out an author may not be all you thought they were. The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got freeze guns, by way of Peri's ... botany skills?

Vacation is officially over. Despite some timey whimey nonsense leading to a new episode last week. Anyway, this time, The Oncoming Storm is officially in 2015! This means catching up on the news from the last month, then getting back on schedule as Josh, Ashley, Rachel, Jeff, and Dr. Scott look at The Harvest, by Dan Abnett. This futuristic thriller sees the Doctor and Ace face off against some old enemies... and maybe welcome a new friend! We'll let you know just how well the introduction of one Mr. Thomas Hector Schofield goes! The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got fleshy parts. Weak, weak fleshy parts.

Aaaaand we're back! We do hope you enjoyed your holidays. We certainly did! Refreshed and revitalized, The Oncoming Storm rings in the new year with a new episode that was absolutely, totally, and completely NOT recorded before they took their break. We swear. But regardless, Josh, Ashley, and Jeff are here and they're sharing their Doctor Who related resolutions with the world! Once that's done, your hosts turn their fresh eyes to Titan Comics The 12th Doctor #2. (We're still not sure how to label these things. After all, Titan *is* publishing 4 different series all with the title Doctor Who!) Does this conclusion to the opening 12th Doctor story live up the first part, and will it bring around Jeff to the rest of the team's love of the first issue? Join us as we talk Terrorformer part 2! The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got a sharknado! Or at least a turtle water spout thingee.

The holidays are fully upon us. For some, it's a magical, happy time. For others, a nightmare of obligations and consumerism. And for the special few, it's all about reading books about torture and death! That's right, The Oncoming Storm is here this week looking at New Adventures novel Falls the Shadow by Daniel O'Mahony. A tender holiday tale about extra-dimensional beings who come to wreck havoc and death because they are bored, this story see Josh, Ashley, and Rachel really getting into the holiday spirit! So put on your best splatter proof holiday sweater, break out the pliers, and get ready to go to town with us! The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got a bunch of dead bodies! So. You've just experienced the horrible deaths of a young cabin boy and the young mother turned vampire you swore to help. You know you're dying but can't tell your traveling companion. It's understandable that you might need a break. Just, whatever you do, don't let the Doctor choose the vacation loca... aww, you let him pick didn't you? That never goes well. In episode 134 of The Oncoming Storm, Josh, Ashley, Rachel, Sacha, and Dr. Scott join the Doctor and Evelyn in Arrangements for War by Paul Sutton. It'll be a nice relaxing trip to a planet we all know will be invaded in a few weeks. But don't worry. The impending royal marriage will seal the union of the mightiest nations on the planet, which will repel the invaders. What could go wrong? But before they make that trip, your hosts discuss one of the most delicate subjects in all of Doctor Who; Love. The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got heart problems. And no audio clips. Yeah, we forgot. It happens when you're old. With the heart problems.

It's been a long time coming, but FINALLY, SACHA has come BACK, to The Oncoming Storm! That's right, episode 133 sees our overworked and underpaid actor extraordinaire make it off of the set and back to the podcast. And not only that, he's brought back Dr. Scott Viguie with him. Together with Josh, Ashley, and Rachel, they're getting CR-Razie, and entering The Axis of Insanity, by Simon Furman. The Axis sits at the center of alternate time lines and the Doctor is called in to help when the Joker Jester takes over! What's his insane plan this time? Will the Doctor be able to stop him, or will he end up playing the fool? Will Peri and Erimem be able to help, or will they get 'fired' from the companion job? Find out this week, same TARDIS Time, same TARDIS channel! The Oncoming Storm... This time, we don't have any Transformers. Sadly.

Excuse us. Have you heard the good word of St. Anthony? Oh yes, it's quite nice. Plenty of maiming and kitten killing to be had as we bring fiery death to the infidels. Would you care for a brochure? Well, if not, perhaps you'd rather listen to The Oncoming Storm episode 131, where Chaptermen Josh, Ashley, and Rachel will take you through the basics using the holy scripture; St. Anthony's Fire by Mark Gatiss. Sure, there's a lot of lizard people and Time Lords in there too, but you'll be entranced by all of the St. Anthony parts the most. We'll just put you on the mailing list. The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've found religion. Fiery hot death religion.

With half of the team still missing, Josh and Rachel once again welcome Dr. Geek himself, Scott Viguie to The Oncoming Storm for episode 130. This week, they come to the end of the first season of the Divergent Universe, with The Twilight Kingdom by Will Shindler. It's a ride of ups and downs, this Divergent Universe thing. Will this season finale give them the answers and direction they are craving from this new universe, or will it be just another random adventure that could have taken place anywhere? Eh, well, at least it's got a giant cave system monster. In addition, there's listener feedback on the Doctor's love life! The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got caves. Lots and lots of caves. It's like it's 1983 in here.

Ah, the 1950's in America. The witch hunts, the chauvinism, the paranoia... it really was a simpler, better time. This week, The Oncoming Storm is heading back to those wonder years in episode 127. First Frontier by David A McIntee see the Doctor, Ace, and Benny heading to this joyful time to witness the beginnings of the space race. Little do they know that in humankind's attempts to reach out to space, space has reached out to them! And what about that mysterious Major Kreer, with his pointy beard all of his chuckling? There's something familiar about him, but we can't quite put our finger on it... Eh, I'm sure it's nothing. The Oncoming Storm... this time, we've got those cute little gray aliens! Following all of the strangeness of the last adventure, this one has the Doctor and Charley getting back to business fighting off alien monster invaders. But does that mean it's any good? Your hosts dig in to the Alpha Sphere to find out, and along the way, we all meet a new friend! The Oncoming Storm... this time we've got the Mentors back doing what they... what? We don't? And in the 11th Doctor #2, The Doctor and Alice visit one of the Doctor's favorite beautiful planets... an interstellar amusement park?!? Alright, so The Oncoming Storm is back on schedule. For now. And that means as your second episode of this week, you get more Josh, Ashley, and Rachel action as they talk about Strange England, by Simon Messingham. It's a story of the Doctor, Ace, and Benny visiting a quiet Victorian manor house, and the expected hijinks that ensue. You'll laugh hysterically as people are eaten by trees. You'll coo over the young girl transmogrified into a horrific spider monster. And don't even get us started on the adorable throat crawling winged insects. You'll enjoy it all, or be violently assimilated back into the program! The Oncoming Storm... This time, what we don't have, is a Ashley Williams. He and that chainsaw hand would have really come in handy in this one.

So this episode is a tiny bit late. Unless you're listening to this in the future, where the date doesn't matter one bit. But nevertheless, we're all here now and The Oncoming Storm is ready to talk more Big Finish. This week, up for review is The Wormery by Paul Magrs and Stephen Cole. It's a heartwarming tale of the Sixth Doctor, Iris Wildthyme, and the trouble they stir up in a 1930s Berlin speakeasy. There's German soldiers, a vampy vixen, and all the interstellar wormholes. A typical Doctor Who story then. Join Josh, Ashley, and Rachel as they discuss the sparks that fly with Iris and the Sixth Doctor meet, and do a little Iris 101 for the listeners. The Oncoming Storm... this time, we got talking, telepathic Tequila worms. As one does in Doctor Who.

The Oncoming Storm is... very, very tired. It's been a hard couple of weeks at Oncoming Storm; broken air conditioners, smashed toes, a plethora scheduling issues... the list goes on and on. But never fear, for Josh, Ashley, and Rachel are still here to talk about Doctor Who! The Show must go on! This week sees your hosts brave a dark and stormy night to discuss the last of the Villains Trilogy, Master, by Joseph Lidster. You'll hear talk about the excellent performances, the connections to the New Adventures, and a rambling off topic discussion into the nature of evil in Doctor Who. It's been a loooooong week. The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got the Master... in Love!

In the halcyon days before Dragon*Con happened and wiped out your Oncoming Storm hosts, Josh, Ashley, and Jeff endeavored to record episode 120 of The Oncoming Storm. This week's topic wasn't just any old comic though. It cuts right to the quick of two of your hosts youth in fandom. This week sees a review of the first ever 8th Doctor comic from Doctor Who Magazine, Endgame by Scott Gray and Alan Barnes. It's well before the BBC Books range starts, so it's one of the first times we see the 8th Doctor since his appearance in that ill fated TV movie. Will this comic recapture the McGann magic? Or will we have to suffer through generic Doctor time? Oh, and the Celestial Toymaker shows up too. The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got were... foxes? Are those foxes? Werewolves don't make sense, it must be foxes... Right?

Alright folks. Everyone at Oncoming Storm HQ is swamped. There are huge upcoming cons, doctor's appointments, and new school years happening. But we don't want to leave you hanging. It's time for a missing (adventure) episode! Well okay. It COULD have been a missing episode. After all, only Josh and Ashley were able to make it this week. So in honor of the old school feel, it's time to look in on the first Missing Adventure, Goth Opera by Paul Cornell. It features the 5th Doctor, Teagan and Nyssa, and a lot of vampires! Join your hosts as we find out if this book can slot seamlessly into the Davison era, or if those radical NA writers are now trying to take over ALL the Doctors! The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got a creepy vampire baby. Yeah, that one would have totally gotten by Mary Whitehouse there Paul.

AND THROUGH THE ONCOMING STORM EPISODE 118, I SHALL HAVE THAT POWER!" Years of research and testing in secret labs have led Josh, Ashley, Rachel, and Sacha to the discussion of Davros by Lance Parkin. The middle story of Big Finish's villain trilogy, this story sees the 6th Doctor compete with Davros for the right to... work for an interstellar corporation?!? What is Davros's plan this time? Where are the Daleks? And can the 6th Doctor make it to work on time? Join the discussion on one of Big Finish's masterpeices. The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got no Daleks! Wait, really? Josh, Ashley, Sacha, and Rachel are back in episode 117 of The Oncoming Storm! Or are they? Maybe they just think they are, and they're really ancient beings that have clawed their way back to our universe from the Anti Matter universe. Or maybe they've just been spending too much time thinking about the Big Finish Story Omega, by Nev Fountain. It's the first in a trilogy of stories focusing on some of Doctor Who's most vile villains. What secrets will this story reveal about Gallifrey's most infamous fallen hero? All of this, plus the news coming out of Big Finish's 15th anniversary! The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got Omega action figures. With lifelike ranting action!

While the world eagerly awaits the debut of Peter Capaldi as the 12th Doctor, The Oncoming Storm is only interested the premieres of David Tennant and Matt Smith! In comic form that is. From Titan Comics. Because they were already seen in comic form, but not from Titan Comics. You know what, forget this whole train of thought. Instead, let's focus on episode 116, where Josh and Ashley are joined by their partner in Doctor Who comics Jeff to discuss the first issues of the 10th and 11th Doctor comics from Titan. After a relatively disappointing last few years of Doctor Who comics, will this be the renaissance your hosts are hoping for, or will they continue to be disappointed? The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got two new companions and a giant alien muppet dog! It's as cool as it sounds.

Finally! After all this time, the moment you've been waiting for has arrived! Well, it's the moment Josh has been waiting for, and he doesn't care if anyone else has been waiting for it, because he now gets to talk about The New Adventures of Bernice Summerfield on The Oncoming Storm episode 114! Does it live up to all of his wants and desires to return to the days of the New Adventures? Ashley, Rachel, and Sacha will join him to see if this box set is more of a Love and War or a The Pit. Featuring 4 stories; The Revolution by Nev Fountain, Goodnight, Sweet Ladies by Una McCormick, Random Ghosts by Guy Adams, and The Lights of Skaro by James Goss, the box takes Benny, the Doctor, and Ace from the streets of science obsessed Arvium 2 to the dead cities of Skaro. This one is an extra sized episode, but how could it not be when we're talking the triumphant return of Benny to the TARDIS?!? The Oncoming Storm... this time, we've got Benny, the Doctor, violent deaths, and uncomfortable sexual situations... It's 1994 all over again!
