The Oncoming Storm, A Doctor Who Spinoff Media Podcast, is brought to you by Mad Norwegian's Josh Wilson and Timegate's Ashley Raburn, along with Jeff Polier and Rachel Stewart. The Oncoming Storm exists to inform you about the best and brightest books, audios, comics, etc from the Doctor Who universe! From Big Finish to Virgin Books to Titan Comics... This is the Doctor Who you won't find on television!
The Oncoming Storm Ep 11: Timegate 2012 - Lars Pearson interview and Faction Paradox Giveaway

It's Con season! Which means that Ashley and Josh are actually able to see each other in person for a change! They met up at the annual Timegate convention in Atlanta, GA, where they tried to avoid looking too creepy in hanging around the young Amelia Pond herself, Caitlin Blackwood. Mad Norwegian Press's Lars Pearson received no such consideration, and after long days of discussing everything Doctor Who, Ashley and Josh kidnapped Lars in order to force him to discuss the forthcoming AHistory. We dive into the challenges of putting together such a book. Just when Lars thinks its safe, Josh pulls out the thumbscrews to force answers about Fluid Links and Lars's favorite spinoff media. The night ends with the announcement of the podcast's first giveaway, signed copies of the limited Hardback of "This Town Will Never Let Us Go". Listen to find out how to get yourself one of these fine books... FOR FREE!!! The Oncoming Storm... This time, we actually have an honest to God Mad Norwegian! It's not just a stupid tagline!

(And we're sorry about the audio quality. And the lack of editing. We're tired. We'll be back to normal next week!)

  • I'm sure I won't be disappointed, indeed really I'm impressed by how much the coverage has increased. It was also good to get an update on Fluid Links, hopefully someday it will be finished. Out of interest what happened to The Ahistory Companion? I recall seeing it advertised around the time that the second edition came out, but I've never seen it mentioned since.

  • Welcome to the podcast! As someone who has worked on editing the new edition of AHistory, I can tell you that you will not be disappointed in it, even without the short stories. The amount of stuff that Lance has crammed in there is already enough to kill a lesser human being. And when you see the size of it, you'll know I mean that literally! :) Hope you stick around to listen to us ramble about those unrepresented stories. It's why we do what we do. It was these stories that really made me the Doctor Who fan I am today, and somebody needs to give them their due!

  • This is the first of your podcasts that I've listened to and it was very interesting to hear all that Lars had to say. It's a little disappointing that the new edition of AHistory won't be covering the short stories, but given the huge increase in coverage that certainly does little to reduce my excitement regarding its release. I be sure to check out your other podcasts as it's always good to hear comment on the (sadly) underrepresented Non-TV stories.
